Hi – I’m Jen…
This blog is mostly about my adventures in web design and development, with a bit of the rest of life thrown in. I’m a freelance web designer/developer based in Berthoud, Colorado, about 40 miles north of Denver. I’m also a happily married woman with a great husband (Dan) and 2 beautiful children (Ty & Sara).
I specialize in custom sites for small businesses. I work in HTML, CSS, PHP, javascript, a tiny bit of ASP. I customize Wordpress, Zencart and Joomla templates. I also provide SEO and internet marketing strategies for my clients.
I love the challenge of designing a beautiful, compelling website, and then figuring out how to make the code match the design as closely, and efficiently, as possible. From time to time I design myself into a corner and then struggle to figure out the logic behind the design. It’s fun…
I enjoy working with other graphic designers on their ideas. I am frequently contacted by graphic designers who have come up with beautiful ideas for sites and then need someone to turn them into reality.
Almost every day I have a new professional challenge to figure out. How to code something, design something, fix something, or create something. I do a lot of research online at a lot of different sites, and I will post some of those links here. Since I have a question or challenge almost every day, I figured I’d start keeping track of some of the solutions, and maybe this will become a good resource for other web developers too.
